FEES

FEES FOR PROCEDURES

Our doctors provide a GAP – FREE ENDOSCOPY service. This means that the account for your procedure itself will be billed directly to your private health fund. Depending on your level of cover this account should be 100% covered by them. You will need to check with your health fund whether or not you have an excess, and whether it is applicable to day procedures as well as overnight stays.

HOSPITAL FEES

In many cases, private health funds have some level of excess on their memberships. This is always payable on the day of the procedure and can vary from $50-$1000. The St John of God Hospital Admissions Department will contact you prior to your procedure to advise what excess, if any, you will be required to pay.

FOR AN ANAESTHETIST

Our regular anaesthetists also provide a GAP-FREE service. However occasionally a locum anaesthetist is required who may charge a fee between $50-$150 dollars

FEES FOR CONSULTATION

We are a private practice and charges private fees for face to face clinic consultations with our specialists. Patients will have a Gap (out of pocket) expense for consultation services. Payment of your account in full on the day of consultation is required. Please contact our reception staff for a full disclosure of our fees.

CANCELLATION OF APPOINTMENTS

Please note 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation of appointments. Failure to provide this may result in a fee being incurred. Non-attendance may also result in a fee being incurred.

WHAT DOES A GAP PAYMENT MEAN?

Out of pocket expense – this is the difference between any Medicare rebate you receive and our private fee. “ This is also known as the gap payment. We are a gap-free endoscopy service, but we do charge a gap for face-face consultation with a specialist in our rooms. Please contact our reception staff for a full disclosure of our consultation fees.
